On July 30, a truck was traveling along Shea Blvd. when its trailer, loaded with construction debris, began to sway and flipped. The momentum pulled the truck over a nearby guardrail, where it also flipped and came to rest on the roof of the vehicle. The driver was able to exit the vehicle on his own and did not require medical attention.

*On Aug. 7, an unknown driver went over a curb and struck the Century Link Communications building on Palisades Blvd. An employee who witnessed the incident said they spoke to the driver, who claimed they were just light-headed and did not need assistance before backing up and driving away.

*A vehicle collision with injuries occurred at the intersection of Golden Eagle Blvd. and Boulder on Aug. 14. One vehicle was struck on the driver side door while passing through the intersection. The driver was transported to the hospital as a precaution. The driver of the other vehicle claimed they had stopped at the intersection but, moving forward, was blinded by the sun and unable to see the first car. They were cited for failure to yield to right of way.

On July 30, a truck was traveling along Shea Blvd. when its trailer, loaded with construction debris, began to sway and flipped. The driver was able to exit the vehicle on his own and did not require medical attention.

*On Aug. 7, an unknown driver went over a curb and struck the Century Link Communications building on Palisades Blvd. An employee who witnessed the incident said they spoke to the driver, who claimed they were just light-headed and did not need assistance before backing up and driving away.

*A vehicle collision with injuries occurred at the intersection of Golden Eagle Blvd. and Boulder on Aug. 14. One vehicle was struck on the driver side door while passing through the intersection. The driver was transported to the hospital as a precaution. The driver of the other vehicle claimed they had stopped at the intersection but, moving forward, was blinded by the sun and unable to see the first car. They were cited for failure to yield to right of way.

*A man was cited for animal cruelty on Calle Del Oro on Aug. 21. According to the report, a girl’s stepfather kicked and struck her dog with an object repeatedly, resulting in the animal’s leg being dislocated. The man claimed the incident had not been witnessed and that, after the dog had bitten him, he picked it up and it fell from his grasp. He claims the injury occurred when the animal struck the ground. The item reportedly used to strike the dog, however, was located in the trash.

*A man on Chama Dr. is reporting that a ring was stolen from his home sometime between Aug. 19 and Aug. 21. There were no signs of forced entry, and he suspects a cleaning crew may be responsible.

*Deputies reported to Alamosa Dr. on Aug. 24 when a caller stated they had struck their potentially pregnant girlfriend in the stomach.

When asked how the incident took place, the original caller stated he and his girlfriend had been arguing over drugs, at which point she struck him in the face and picked up a broom handle. The man claimed he struck his girlfriend in self-defense.

The woman, however, stated the incident took place over an argument concerning the father of her baby.

The woman was transported for medical examination as a precaution. The man was taken into custody for assault.

*A woman was charged with disorderly conduct on Aug. 25 after refusing to leave her ex-boyfriend’s home.

Deputies received a call from a resident on Palomino Dr. stating that his ex-girlfriend would not leave his home, despite asking her for hours to do so.

At the same time, a call came in from the woman in question claiming she was trying to leave her boyfriend’s house and he would not let her, and that he punched her in the eye.

When deputies responded, the woman’s story proved inconsistent, there was no sign of injury on her face and she appeared to be intoxicated.

The man stated he did not wish to assist in prosecution but that he did feel his peace was being disturbed.

The woman was transported for a precautionary medical examination upon her request.

*A driver was cited for excessive speed on Aug. 27, going 87 along Shea Blvd.

*A car was reportedly damaged while parked in a residential driveway along Ashbrook Dr. on Aug. 27.

*A man was cited for trespassing after entering a residence without permission of the owner on Stancrest Dr. The offender was the son of the former owner of the home, who opened the garage and stored a trailer full of personal items without prior consent of the new owner.

*A stolen vehicle was reported at the Circle K on Shea Blvd. on Aug. 28. The owner of the car stated her boyfriend had struck her during an argument in the car. At Circle K, the boyfriend reportedly took her keys and drove off, leaving her stranded.

*A hit and run was reported on Aspen Dr. on Aug. 29. The damage wasn’t noticed until the morning after the incident but, since the vehicle was parked in a garage, it’s assumed the incident took place the day prior when the car was parked at the local high school.
