Maricopa County Sheriff’s deputies arrested a Fountain Hills man for aggravated DUI on Monday, Jan. 11.
Deputies responded to a report of a vehicle driving erratically in the neighborhood near Pincushion Way and Ocotillo Drive.
Arriving in the area, deputies found a vehicle parked along the street with the engine running. They found the driver slumped in the driver’s seat.
It took several minutes for deputies to roust the man so he would open the door and they could investigate.
The man was found to have been drinking and driving with a suspended license, which was the aggravating circumstance in his arrest.
*On Monday, Jan. 11, deputies received a report of a burglary at a residence in the 16000 block of Trevino Drive. The unknown suspect apparently entered the home through a doggie door. Items reported missing include $170 cash, an iPhone, laptop and several credit cards.
*On Tuesday, Jan. 12, deputies responded to a report of a hit and run collision on Avenue of the Fountains and La Montana Drive in front of Town Hall. A motorist traveling east reported slowing down to turn into a parking space on the Avenue when a vehicle passed them on the right and collided with the front, right of their car. The other driver continued on with the victim unable to obtain a license plate number of even a description of the vehicle.
*On Tuesday, Jan. 12, a resident of the 15000 block of Palomino Boulevard reported damage to the front window of their home. The window had been broken by a rock, BB or pellet. No evidence was found.
*On Tuesday, Jan. 12, a Fountain Hills woman was cited for criminal speed on Saguaro Boulevard near Panorama Drive. She was driving 56 miles per hour where the speed limit is 35. Criminal speed is exceeding the speed limit by 20 miles or more.
*On Tuesday, Jan. 12, deputies received a burglary report from a resident in the 14000 block of N. Calle del Oro. The suspect apparently entered through a doggie door. Two laptop computers and keys were taken. The victim alerted deputies that they have an order of protection against a former roommate.
*On Thursday, Jan. 14, deputies were called to a residence in the 16000 block of E. Balsam for a reported burglary from a vehicle. Deputies were told that this was the fifth similar burglary to take place since November.
None of the previous incidents were reported. This time the owner reported finding a man walking away from his vehicle and called deputies. The man was still in the area when deputies arrived and he was questioned and released. The case in pending evaluation of evidence and lab reports.
