Maricopa County Sheriff’s deputies arrested a Fountain Hills man on Tuesday, Aug. 2, after he allegedly threatened a group of young teens near the intersection of Saguaro and El Lago boulevards.

The man parked his car near the group and got out and allegedly walked toward the teens, about 14 years of age, with an open pocket knife in his hand.

The suspect was arrested and faces potential charges for aggravated assault, aggravated assault on a minor and disorderly conduct with a dangerous instrument.

Maricopa County Sheriff’s deputies arrested a Fountain Hills man on Tuesday, Aug. 2, after he allegedly threatened a group of young teens near the intersection of Saguaro and El Lago boulevards.

The man parked his car near the group and got out and allegedly walked toward the teens, about 14 years of age, with an open pocket knife in his hand.

The suspect was arrested and faces potential charges for aggravated assault, aggravated assault on a minor and disorderly conduct with a dangerous instrument.

*On Thursday, July 29, a suspect slipped away from deputies and fled as he was being taken into the MCSO substation at Town Hall. The man was found a short time later hiding in a dumpster in a parking lot across the street. Deputies picked the man up after they received a call from his mother that he was in violation of a court order of protection.

*On Sunday, July 31, deputies responded to a report of windows broken at a home in the 16000 block of Bayfield Drive. A woman reported she was being chased by her ex-boyfriend when she went into a nearby house and fled out the back to safety. The homeowner reported the boyfriend threw rocks through the front windows, causing an estimated $2,000 in damage.

*On Friday, July 15, a resident of the 16000 block of Ironwood Drive reported someone had stolen his bank card and charged $1,005 in merchandise.

*On Monday, Aug. 1, a woman was found unresponsive in a vehicle in the 11000 block of Saguaro Boulevard. The woman was transported to the hospital for possibly being under the influence of drugs. Charges for possession of narcotic drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia are pending lab analysis of evidence.

*On Saturday, July 30, a Fountain Hills resident reported the theft of golf clubs valued at $800 from his open garage in the 14000 block of Springfield Way.

*On Monday, Aug. 1, a resident of the 17000 block of Calle del Oro reported someone had keyed the driver side of her 2000 Jeep Wrangler.

*On Friday, July 29, a representative of the Fontana HOA Master Board reported the alleged theft of $11,225 from the HOA bank account. The information has been turned over to detectives for follow-up.

*On Tuesday, Aug. 2, deputies responded to the 29000 block of N. 166th Way in unincorporated Maricopa County for a reported structure fire. Deputies found the home involved in flames and firefighters arriving on the scene. They encountered a female on the scene who was naked and uncooperative. She continued to try to go into the fire. She told deputies she had started the fire to get gold out of the walls. During the encounter with deputies she kicked one of the deputies and was arrested for aggravated assault on an officer.

*On Tuesday, Aug. 2, deputies cited and trespassed an 89-year-old Fountain Hills man from the Safeway store after he allegedly shoplifted merchandise valued at $123.

*On Wednesday, Aug. 3, a resident reported the theft of a bicycle from a residence in the 14000 block of Fayette Drive.

*On Wednesday, Aug. 3, a Fountain Hills woman, 71, reported being assaulted by her husband, 67. She said he had become abusive and assaulted her. He was arrested on an outstanding warrant and also faces possible charges for domestic violence assault causing injury and domestic violence disorderly conduct/fighting.

*On Wednesday, Aug. 3, deputies received a report of a man in the wash near Saguaro Boulevard and Colony Drive starting a fire and yelling profanities. The homeless man was arrested on disorderly conduct and reckless burning.

*On Thursday, July 28, a Fountain Hills woman, 84, reported being defrauded by two men who had called her identifying themselves as police officers in California. They told her that her grandson was in jail and needed $1,500 to get out. They instructed the woman to purchase iTunes cards to cover the amount. She purchased the cards and provided them with the numbers when they called back. After she contacted her family in California she was told her grandson had not been detained by police and she then called the Sheriff’s Office.

*On Thursday, Aug. 4, deputies arrested a Fountain Hills man for allegedly assaulting a woman he had been living with. The woman told deputies the suspect came to the door and demanded to be let in to collect belongings. When she refused he threw a rock at the door, damaging the screen and striking her. The suspect was later arrested at his mother’s house nearby and denied the allegations. However, deputies believe the evidence supported the woman’s story and arrested him for domestic violence assault causing injury and domestic violence criminal damage causing property damage.

*On Friday, Aug. 5, deputies arrested a Fountain Hills man on an outstanding warrant from a Mesa court for disorderly conduct/fighting.

*On Friday, Aug. 5, deputies arrested a Fountain Hills woman on an outstanding warrant from Maricopa County Superior Court for aggravated assault.
