Maricopa County Sheriff’s deputies received several reports of shots fired in the 17000 block of Caliente Drive on Monday, Nov. 28, and they arrested a Fountain Hills man for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon after investigating.
As the suspect was backing out of his driveway a neighbor confronted him about his barking dogs. This prompted the suspect to pick up a handgun lying on the vehicle console and get out of the car. The Sheriff’s report was unclear whether the suspect pointed the gun at the victim, but does say he fired a shot into the air as the victim backed away.
The suspect then pulled back into his garage and went into the house where he unloaded the weapon and left it on a counter. He then went back outside where he was when deputies arrived.
