On Sunday, May 14, a Maricopa County Sheriff’s deputy driving along Rio Verde Drive near 174th Street found a man walking along the roadway wrapped with a blanket.

The deputy stopped and made contact with the man and discovered he was suffering serious injury to his head and face.

The man told the deputy he last remembered being at a friend’s house in Phoenix near 32nd Street and Greenway Road. He said he woke up that morning in the back of a pickup and recalled being under an awning.

On Sunday, May 14, a Maricopa County Sheriff’s deputy driving along Rio Verde Drive near 174th Street found a man walking along the roadway wrapped with a blanket.

The deputy stopped and made contact with the man and discovered he was suffering serious injury to his head and face.

The man told the deputy he last remembered being at a friend’s house in Phoenix near 32nd Street and Greenway Road. He said he woke up that morning in the back of a pickup and recalled being under an awning.

He walked to the roadway hoping to get help. Deputies were unable to locate the truck or awning described by the man. He was taken for treatment and Phoenix Police took over the investigation based on the man’s last known location.

*On Saturday, May 13, a resident of the 13000 block of Clifftop Lane reported a theft of a wristwatch from inside his residence. He told deputies that construction workers had been in the house the past couple of days and he had left them alone. He estimated the value of the watch at $5,000.

*On Saturday, May 13, a person turned in to the Sheriff’s Office a purse they had found in a trash can at a Fountain Hills gas station.

*On Saturday, May 13, deputies received a report that someone had stolen items from inside a vehicle parked in the 12000 block of Saguaro Boulevard. Two purses were taken with cell phones, cash and bank/credit cards.

*On Friday, May 12, a Fountain Hills woman reported someone had used her identity to open a department store credit card account.

*On Friday, May 12, deputies responded with Fountain Hills Fire Department and Southwest Gas after a construction worker struck and damaged a natural gas line near Shea Boulevard and Firerock Country Club Drive. The vicinity was evacuated until the leak was secured.

*On Tuesday, May 9, a Fountain Hills resident reported someone had made four unauthorized transactions on their bank account in Nebraska. The transactions totaled $1,500.

*On Saturday, May 13, a woman was arrested when she was found in possession of a stolen vehicle. Deputies responded to a report the woman was causing a scene and refusing to leave a gas station.

*On Tuesday, May 16, deputies received a report that someone had broken the windows of a garage door at a residence in 16000 block of Andrew Drive.

*On Tuesday, May 16, a woman reported that a relative staying with her had taken an X-Box console and jewelry from her home.

*On Wednesday, May 15, a male Fountain Hills High School student reported he was told two girls (students) were seen writing on the hood and windows of the pickup he was driving. In an interview with the girls they said they were unaware the markers they used would cause damage. The mother of one of the girls offered to pay to repair the damage and no charges are pending.

*On Tuesday, May 16, a Fountain Hills woman reported someone had stolen a package delivered to her home by USPS.

*On Tuesday, May 16, a Fountain Hills restaurant owner reported someone wrote a check on her business account in the amount of $9,900.

*On Tuesday, May 16, deputies were called to the Bashas’ store for a shoplifting report. A man and woman left the store with merchandise they had not paid for and left in a vehicle driven by a third person.

*On Wednesday, May 17, a Fountain Hills woman reported someone opened a credit card account using her name.

*On Wednesday, May 17, deputies received a report of a hit and run from a man who said someone struck his parked vehicle near La Montana and Hamilton drives.

*On Wednesday, May 17, a Fountain Hills woman reported someone opened a credit card account using her identification information. She reported a stranger had been doing work at her house.
