Maricopa County Sheriff’s deputies in Fountain Hills were contacted Tuesday, June 6, by a woman who wanted to report a possible fraudulent scheme she had been exposed to.
The woman is a trainer at a local fitness center and was contacted about training a group of about 10 people. She followed through to make arrangements until the person she was in contact with made a highly unusual request related to handling the financial transaction. When she refused that deal ended.
The woman contacted law enforcement after she received another text message that was similar to the first.

*On Saturday, June 3, a Fountain Hills man reported his wallet was stolen by a woman he had brought to his home. He had met the woman at an outpatient rehabilitation facility. He told deputies they were in the pool at his home and having some drinks when the woman left suddenly gathering things from the table were his wallet, as well as her personal items were left.
*On Wednesday, May 31, a Fountain Hills woman reported someone attempted to break into her vehicle while it was parked in the 16000 block of Venetian Lane.
*On Friday, June 2, a Fountain Hills man reported receiving threatening text messages from another man he knew as an acquaintance.
*On Saturday, June 3, a resident of the 15000 block of Mark Lane in unincorporated Maricopa County reported someone damaged windows at his residence. He believed they used a BB or pellet gun.
*On Thursday, June 1, deputies were called to a residence in the 17000 block of Calle del Oro for a report of suspicious behavior. They located a woman with two outstanding warrants for her arrest. She was taken into custody.
*On Monday, June 5, deputies received a report from a Fountain Hills juvenile that his bicycle had been stolen from the Boys & Girls Club in the 14000 block of De Cambre Ave.
*On Saturday, June 3, a Payson man was stopped for speeding on Shea Boulevard. He was subsequently arrested for DUI and cited for excessive speed. He was released to a family member.
*On Sunday, June 4, deputies received a report of a vehicle crash into a light pole on Shea Boulevard at Crestview Drive. The vehicle left the scene but a witness provided information including a license plate. The vehicle was later located in a parking lot in Scottsdale. The registered owner admitted driving at the time of the collision. He was cited for failure to report, and failure to control his vehicle to avoid an accident.
*On Monday, June 5, a resident reported someone had used their identification information to open a cell phone account.
*On Tuesday, June 6, deputies received a report of broken glass at a business closed for the day in the 11000 block of Desert Vista. There was no sign anything was taken.
*On Wednesday, June 7, a Fountain Hills man reported an unknown person used his identification to apply for and receive a credit card which had been used.
*On Wednesday, June 7, there was a reported burglary at a residence in the 13000 block of N. Meridian at Fort McDowell. It was apparent someone had been inside the residence, but it appeared that nothing was taken.
*On Thursday, June 8, a resident reported someone forced entry into a storage unit at a facility on Technology Drive. A toolbox was missing.
