Maricopa County Sheriff’s deputies investigated a report of an armed robbery in the 11600 block of Saguaro Boulevard on Sunday, Feb. 10.

A man reported he was robbed at gunpoint at approximately 6 p.m. as he was standing near his vehicle in the parking lot of a local business at the address. The victim said an unknown male subject in his early 20s approached him on a bicycle and brandished a handgun, demanding his money.

After the victim complied and gave the man what cash he had on him, the suspect is alleged to have ridden off on his bicycle and deputies were called to report the incident.

After searching the area deputies were unable to locate the suspect. There were no witnesses to the incident and MCSO is continuing to investigate the allegation.

* On Sunday, Feb. 17, MCSO was called to Fountain Hills Presbyterian Church when a suspicious package, wrapped like a present, was found under a tree. While there was a birthday party going on, no one was able to identify the package.

The sheriff’s ordinance disposal personnel were called and the package was detonated in place and nothing suspicious was found.
