Get out and vote! That’s a drum we’ve been beating for the better part of 2018, and we hope our readers have found it a catchy tune. It all started with the property tax election this spring, it has continued leading into next week’s Primaries and, yes, we’ll be coming back for a third rendition as the November General Election draws near.

Voting is one of the few ways average citizens have the ability to impact the political nuts, bolts and gears that govern their day to day lives. It’s a small act but, for that reason alone, a very important one.

With less than a week until the Aug. 28 election, consider this your final reminder to take part in this absolutely vital process. The Vote Center is open at the Community Center starting today, so don’t be afraid to drop by and cast your ballot if you did not opt to vote by mail.

Additional details for the Voting Center, including hours of operation, are listed in our 1A coverage. For those of you who would prefer to hit the polls on Election Day, that’s where you’ll also find details about local voting locations and hours.

Given the timing of the election, results will not be in print until the following week. However, stay tuned to fhtimes.com, where we’ll post final tallies as soon as they’re made available to us.
