Kudos

Kudos to the VisionFH committee for an excellent process that is still unfolding.

Where will it lead us? What does the future look like? How will we get there? It’s up to us – and our elected leaders.

While I’m an official part of the committee, I played a relatively minor role in this process. The remaining members dedicated countless hours to this visioning process for one reason and one reason only – they love this community we call Fountain Hills.

While I’m an official part of the committee, I played a relatively minor role in this process. The remaining members dedicated countless hours to this visioning process for one reason and one reason only – they love this community we call Fountain Hills.

They truly care about this town and where it’s going. They were willing to sacrifice personal time and energy because they want to see this town thrive and grow and be better.

There was no hidden agenda. There were no pre-conceived notions. Committee members went out of their way to craft the community survey and subsequent workshop based on facts and unbiased statements.

With nearly 2,000 people taking the survey and 100-plus dedicated folks taking a Saturday to participate in a workshop, I’d say this visioning process has been wildly successful to date.

Now what?

Come to the Town Council meeting on Thursday evening to hear detailed results from the hands-on workshop. Get involved – and stay involved.

The only way this visioning process will be successful is if residents stay engaged and hold our elected officials accountable for following through on these issues. Our community’s future looks bright, but some changes and improvements are definitely needed. “More of the same” will doom us, will limit our future potential and stunt Fountain Hills’ vitality.

We must fight through the rhetoric and the doomsday theorists, those who seem to fight just about any proposal that comes along.

The VisionFH Advisory Team adopted a slogan for this process – “Join the Movement. Be Heard.”

So join the movement and be heard!
