Know your ballots

Voters who are registered with no party affiliation, and it seems like there are more and more of those every day, need to remember when they go to the polls or ask for an early ballot for the Aug. 30 primary they will need to designate what ballot they want to vote on.

There are three choices, including Democrat, Republican or Town Council only. The choices for the council seats are included in the partisan ballots but, for anyone who just wants to vote in the council election, they can request a ballot with only those candidates listed.

The deadline to request an early mail ballot is Tuesday, July 19. This can be done by visiting the county recorder’s website, recorder.maricopa.gov/elections.
