Kathleen Nadine Dore, aged 72, passed away on October 9, 2024, in Phoenix, AZ. Kathy, as she was best known, dedicated her life to serving her community and nurturing her family.
Kathy's career spanned 27 years with the Chicago Police Department, where she served in various capacities including Patrol Officer, 911 Operator, Community Service Officer, and Evidence Technician. Her commitment to service was exemplified by the numerous honorable mentions and complimentary letters she received. Additionally, she was an active President of the Lesbian and Gay Police Association, advocating for equal rights within the force.
In retirement, Kathy continued to impact lives as a ride-share driver, a role that allowed her to connect with numerous people, reflecting her giving and caring nature. Her interests also included coin collecting and cooking, activities through which she enjoyed spending time with friends and sharing her passions.
Kathy was a loving grandmother to Connor Jannick and Logan Jannick. She is survived by her son Chris Jannick and daughter-in-law Dawn Jannick, brothers Edward Dore, Joseph Dore, and Robert Dore. She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward Dore and Margaret Keiss.
