Kasey Elizabeth Covey

Posted

Kasey Elizabeth Covey passed away Friday, Sept. 26 at age 34. Our beautiful daughter, granddaughter, sister, aunt, cousin and friend was born and raised in Arizona.

She was one of God’s sweetest children full of kindness and compassion for everyone in her life especially when it came to her four-legged friends. She spent her last years working as a foster mom for dogs until they could be adopted out. The evening she passed, firefighters and her sister found her in bed with a foster dog on each side of her protecting her as she had protected them.

She is survived and loved by a large number of family and friends including her mother, Vicki Litzler; her stepfather, Timothy Spaulding; brother, Brett Litzler; three uncles and a grandfather on her mother’s side.

Kasey is preceded in death by her grandmother, Elmerretta Sprinkles who helped raise her, building a very close bond along the way.

Her father, Rodney Covey; her stepmother, Ruth; her stepsister, Kristen; her best friends and sisters, Danielle and Martelle will miss her beautiful smile and contagious laughter.

Kasey has a very special relationship with her stepbrother, Barrett as they share a love of dogs and all things funny. She had numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews on her dad’s side of the family who loved her deeply. But no one loved her more than her grandmother, Betty Desrochers.

All of our lives have been immeasurably enriched by having loved Kasey and by having her love us.

A celebration of her life will take place at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 4, at Central Christian Church (North Campus), 933 N. Lindsay Road, Mesa. A burial service will follow with family and close friends. Contributions can be made in her name to the Luv of Dogz Fund, Inc. www.luvofdogzfund.org/donate.
