Kalivianakis’ courage and independence earned my vote in Fountain Hills

OPINION — I never met Brenda Kalivianakis before November 2025. Although I follow local politics and watch the Town Hall meetings on YouTube, our paths had never crossed until that evening.

After I slipped and fell at a curb at the Avenue of the Fountains, Brenda was the first person who rushed to my aid. She helped me sit down and catch my breath, and I thanked her. I saw her kindness firsthand.

Seeing the orange signs today from the ROT PAC attacking Brenda is deeply disturbing. It is also troubling to hear our current mayor say he does not control what others do while continuing to campaign with similar ROT PAC messaging that residents find harmful and divisive.
