Joseph Lipka, 86, of Fountain Hills, died Wednesday, Aug. 14, 2013 in his home.
Joseph was born March 19, 1927 in Bedford, Ohio to Andrew and Elizabeth (Anton) Lipka. He served in the United States Navy in the Pacific Theater, 1945-1948. He married Helen Bahleda on Jan. 14, 1950 in Cleveland, Ohio.
Joseph was a member of VFW Post 7507 in Fountain Hills and served as Commander 2001-2002.
Joseph is survived by his wife, Helen; two daughters, Deborah Tollerton (husband James) and Michelle Carlton; three grandchildren, William Tollerton, Michael and Victoria Carlton; and one sister, Kay O’Reilly. He is preceded in death by his parents and three sisters.
Visitation is Sunday, Aug. 18, at Messinger Fountain Hills Mortuary, 12065 N. Saguaro Boulevard, from 1 to 3 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. with a rosary service at 7:30.
Mass of Christian Burial is Monday, Aug. 19, at 10 a.m. at the Church of Ascension, 12615 Fountain Hills Boulevard. Burial will be at Holy Redeemer Cemetery, Phoenix.
