JoLynn Schneider, 68, went home to be with the Lord on Oct. 22, 2017. She was born on June 10, 1949 in Battle Creek, Mich. to James and Rebecca Myers. She was preceded in death by her biological parents, James and Rebecca Myers, her adopting parents, Rowella and Vernon Stoner and Rowella and Gerald Keefer and her brother James Meyer.
JoLynn is survived by her husband, Howard Schneider of Fountain Hills; their three children, Kelly Schneider of Phoenix, Kari Jones of Fountain Hills and Gregory Schneider of Phoenix; their eight grandchildren, Joshua, Luke, Jake, Kyle, Preston, Olivah, Cayden and Othniel; sisters, Vonnie Schunk, Shirley Pulcer, Mary Hines and Dorothy Williams; brothers, Arthur Duane Grant, David Redmond, Jack Meyer, John Meyer, Gerald Meyer and step-brother Paul Keefer.
JoLynn met the love of her life, Howard while he was serving in the United States Navy Ceremonial Guard in Washington, D.C. and later aboard the U.S.S. Van Voorhis DE 1028 stationed in Newport, RI. JoLynn was Howard’s best friend, partner, soulmate and love of his life and they were happily married for 47 and one half years.
After graduating from Eastern High School in Lansing, Mich. she attended Lansing Community college in Lansing, Mich. with a degree in Law Enforcement.
JoLynn’s work history revolved around the care and love of people. In Michigan, she helped handicapped/disabled students achieve their educational goals in the St. Johns Middle School. Her love for kids and youth never ceased and in Arizona she aided people with their insurance claims domestically and internationally at CVS Caremark.
JoLynn’s love of life was displayed by her love for her family, church, mission’s ministry, drama and traveling.
A visitation will be held Wednesday, Oct. 25, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Messinger Fountain Hills Mortuary, 12065 N. Saguaro Blvd., Fountain Hills. A memorial service will be held at 9 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 26 also at the Mortuary. Interment will follow at 11 a.m. at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona, 23029 N. Cave Creek Road, Phoenix, AZ.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to the Broken Arrow Ministries, P.O. Box 3147, Indian Wells, AZ 86031. Howard and JoLynn so enjoyed their work on the Navajo Reservation and would like any donations to go there.
