Jill Keefe, a big-hearted human who lived with love, joy, and gratitude, passed away surrounded by loved ones on June 30th, 2026. She is survived by her devoted husband and "sanctuary," Jeremy Keefe; her mother, Carol Baumgartner; her fiercely loved daughters, Megan (Christopher) Tennefos and Miranda Hart; her sister and lifelong best friend, Christine (Ward) Kaatz; and the father of her children, Derek Hart, with whom she shared a lasting bond. She also leaves behind three heartbroken, adored puppies and three utterly indifferent cats. She was preceded in death by her father, Warren Baumgartner.
Born on August 15, 1969, in Burien, Washington, Jill enjoyed a playful childhood in Kent. She later found her great love in Jeremy. Together, they founded Good Living Greens, an organic mini-market built on the motto, “Because we love you and want you to live a long time”—a reflection of how they lived and loved.
Jill spent the majority of her career in Technology Project Management and Strategic Planning at Fortune 100 companies, including Boeing, Weyerhaeuser, Russell Investments, Liberty Mutual, and Nationwide. While she secretly indulged in Harvard Business Review and loved a clever plan, she most treasured the brilliant colleagues she felt blessed to work alongside.
Known for her sharp mind, quick wit, and deep loyalty, Jill refused to accept easy answers to hard questions. She was deeply committed to God and desired to be a reflection of His love. Jill faced breast cancer with bravery, humor, and faith, prioritizing quality of life and transparently sharing her journey to help others. She leaves behind an enduring legacy of strength and community.
In lieu of flowers, please honor Jill by supporting local food systems or simply caring for one another a little more intentionally. She will be missed dearly and remembered with great love.
