Jean E. Strong

Jean E. Strong, 68, died Tuesday, July 30, in Scottsdale after a long illness. She resided in Fountain Hills for more than four years and prior to that lived in Scottsdale.

She was born in 1944 to Carl and Helen Strong in Cortland, N.Y. She is survived by her sister, Linda Cardner of Londonderry, N.H.; a nephew, Geoffrey Cardner of Norfolk, Mass.; and nieces, Stephanie Wright of Londonderry, N.H., and Rebecca Wolfe of Salem, N.H. There are four grandnephews and one grandniece.

Jean graduated from SUNY at Cortland (1966) and went on to earn her Masters degree at SUNY at Oswego (1967). She taught high school social studies as well as sociology at Niagara Community College in Sanford, N.Y., for several years before coming to Arizona in 1977.

Here she operated four video stores, was a business consultant, a human resource director and she was a Realtor. In the latter occupation she was a broker and earned the GRI Designation as well as the e-Pro Certification.

She was an ADRE approved instructor. She held the NFsti Certified REO spec. designation.

Jean had a great love for her dogs and was often seen walking them around Fountain Hills.

She loved entertaining guests with her cooking which was especially appreciated by friends at Thanksgiving.

Graveside services will be held at her family plot in upstate New York later this summer. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
