Jazzercise, the leading dance fitness company, is introducing an innovative new class created specifically for women navigating the perimenopausal to post-menopausal stages.
The new Vital Sculpt HIIT program, developed with a science-backed approach, incorporates three core elements aimed at enhancing strength, vitality and mobility to promote long-term hormone health, according to a press release.
The classes are held at Jazzercise Fountain Hills every Tuesday at 8:30 a.m., Wednesday at 6 a.m. Wednesday at 4:30 p.m. and Saturday at 8 a.m.
“I’m so excited to bring a new format that focuses on women’s health in this stage of their lives,” says Dana Rowe, owner and instructor at Jazzercise Fountain Hills. “We focus on women’s health every day in our studio and we are upping our game by staying on the cutting edge of science.”
All classes are followed up with the signature Stretch class for an additional restorative focus to improve and increase flexibility.
The concept was inspired by Jazzercise CEO and Chief Choreographer Shanna Missett Nelson’s personal journey.
“I started noticing some body composition changes that I just couldn’t seem to correct, despite moving a lot and eating well. It was frustrating. So, I started researching what I needed to do to feel strong, energized, and capable—not just now, but for years to come,” Nelson said, 56 and postmenopausal. “As someone who’s spent my entire career in fitness, I knew this was something we needed to bring to Jazzercise.”
Vital Sculpt HIIT encourages women to move with intention and purpose, promoting overall wellness and quality of life as they age, the release added.
While the intent of the class focuses on perimenopausal to post-menopausal stages, women of all ages can participate and benefit from the training.
Key elements of this new class range from preserving and building muscle mass as a response to hormonal changes, revitalization of bone growth as a preventative measure against osteoporosis and osteopenia and the improvement of mobility with functional exercises that aid in daily movements.
Core aspects include heavy strength training, multi-directional jump training incorporating impactful dance movements to stimulate bone growth and functional movement training.
The program is available now, both in-studio and through Jazzercise On-Demand.
Offering classes seven days of the week, Jazzercise is located at 16810 E. Avenue of the Fountains, Suite 106. For more information and to view a class schedule, visit jazzercise.com/studio/az/fountain-hills-studio or call 480-417-7108.
