Saguaro Boulevard has served us well. Day after day, month after month and year after year for over 40 years it has ushered countless vehicles of all sizes and weights in to and out of our fair town.
Like an old car with one repair after another or an old air conditioner way past its expected lifetime expectancy, this boulevard needs to be replaced. Now. Like plugging a hole in a leaky dike, other holes keep appearing. At this point, patching is superficial and is throwing good money after bad. Wear and tear, inadequate drainage, deteriorating asphalt and insufficient subgrade add up to road that can no longer be reasonably maintained to keep it viable.
With this in mind, I urge you to approve the Saguaro Boulevard bond proposal when your ballot arrives in the mail around Oct. 12. With your yes vote, the Town Council can start the process of having design work completed by next summer and construction completed in 2015.

The bond money will be used specifically for Saguaro Boulevard reconstruction. It will provide the town with a safe, robust, efficient, modern and welcoming gateway road for Fountain Hills residents, visitors and commercial, public safety and emergency vehicles.
