Like most of us in Fountain Hills, my home is my biggest investment. I maintain that value by performing maintenance, painting or repairing as needed and keeping up the landscaping. A significant part of that investment are the streets in my neighborhood and the community, the parks and public buildings we all share, which also must be maintained.
I have been told that the market value of our homes and condos could decrease by 1 to 3 percent per year if the town’s streets and services were to deteriorate further due to a lack of funding. How much would your home or condominium lose in value if the town does not have the funds to keep repairs and services current?

For discussion, an 2 percent depreciation on a $500,000 home would be $10,000 dollars. The proposed primary property tax would be roughly one twentieth of that, or about $500. I suggest you do the math on your investment.
What is the dollar amount you are willing to lose each year? Let’s not let that happen.
Help protect the investment in my home and yours by allowing the town to keep the streets repaired, the fire and police able to do their job and our parks and public buildings safe and usable. Vote yes on May 15.
