In Fountain Hills, our election decisions will matter for years

OPINION — When I hire someone, I'm looking for experience and integrity. They must demonstrate why they are the best candidate and why I should hire them – I want experience, not blue sky or smoke and mirrors.

Our upcoming election is the same with one difference: if I hire someone and they don't work out, I can quickly replace them. In an election, we're basically stuck with our decision. In this case, two years as mayor and four years for the rest.

We must be smart enough to select with our heads – not our hearts, using logic versus emotion. Choose wisely, because we'll have to live with our decision for years.
