Our town’s Mission Statement includes, “sustaining public trust through open and responsive government” and “maintaining stewardship and preservation of the town’s financial and natural resources.”
The Vision FH survey from 2000 residents identified these priorities: Ensure maintenance of infrastructure (including the Fountain), preserve our financial sustainability.
From the FY 16-17 Fountain Hills adopted budget: “The Town will be facing budget shortfalls (deficits) totaling up to $5.9 million. (The Town) has a lack of growing, sustainable and diversified revenue base to fund ongoing operating costs. The Town is dependent upon state shared revenues and local sales tax for a (frightening) 87 percent of total revenue.”

Linda Kavanaugh has had four years of her Tea Party agenda to dig the town into this financial abyss with deficit budgeting, voodoo economics and a “whistling past the graveyard” approach. In a recent list of her priorities as mayor, she did not even include “financial solvency.” Her total lack of fiscal responsibility disqualifies her from continuing as our town’s chief executive.
Ginny Dickey is running for mayor as a write-in candidate. Her very impressive resume is that of a proven leader and stateswoman, not a politician. Her management style is one of inclusiveness, not partisan politics. Sixteen years of elected service to Fountain Hills. Over 30 years of volunteering and serving in all aspects of Fountain Hills’ growth and vitality. Business and Professional Women’s Board member, including “Woman of the Year.” A very long list of civic accomplishments.
When you find yourself getting deeper and deeper into a hole, stop digging! This year we all have a choice as to who will lead us. That choice is crystal clear. Write in Ginny Dickey to lead us back to prosperity.
