Idealistic

It is almost not worth responding to Lina Bellenir’s ill-advised notion to compare Linda Kavanagh’s resumé to Ginny Dickey’s, but here goes:

-Sixteen years of elected service, School Board from 1994-2002 and Council from 2006-2014;

-Participant in all Town Hall Strategic Planning sessions, starting in 1984, only a year after she moved to Fountain Hills;

-Participant in all Town Hall Strategic Planning sessions, starting in 1984, only a year after she moved to Fountain Hills;

-Volunteer as Community Theater Board Treasurer/Accountant, all aspects of productions, for almost 10 years including the Community Theater Prizm Founders Award;

-Volunteer on School Facilities Advisory Board, High School Site Council, Superintendent’s Advisory Committee, classroom Mom, PTA Board Member, Falcon Leadership Mentoring Program activities, ASBA Continuing Education Awards, Falcon Fiesta volunteer, and more;

-AZ Centennial Committee Fountain Hills Co-Chair;

-Charter Board Member, 1995 Arts Council, FDR Sculpture Committee;

-Sunset Kiwanis building manager and volunteer;

-Local American Association of University Women Public Policy Chair;

-Metropolitan Business and Professional Women, Board Member, Legislative Chair, and “Woman of the Year”;

-AZ Women’s Hall of Fame, Planning Committee;

-AZ Advocacy Network/Leadership Institute;

-Guest speaker at Estrella Mt. Comm. College, ASU, SCC and Coronado HS;

-Participant in Sonoran/Lincoln Institute of Land Policy Working Paper for FH;

-Assisted school district participation in Diesel Emissions Reduction Program;

-Presenter at the League of AZ Cities and Towns annual conference;

-Fountain Hills Lower Verde Valley Hall of Fame inductee;

All this and more while working much of the time, and raising three sons.

One definition of quixotic is “idealistic in a romantic way.” I choose that over cynical and entitled. I choose to write in Ginny Dickey for mayor, and connect the arrow beside her name.
