I love Mike

Some have asked me – are you sure you want your husband, Mike, to be on the town council? You’re going to become a “widow,” they say, and people will be hassling him all the time at the grocery store and in restaurants. You won’t have any peace!

Well, that was also true when he was editor of The Fountain Hills Times, so I don’t think too many things will change in that regard.

In fact, I was the one who originally told him he should think about running for the town council.

There were a lot of things going on at the time, and people didn’t seem happy about some council decisions. Mike used to live and breathe all things Fountain Hills while working at the newspaper for so many years, so I figured it would be a natural thing for him to consider.

I told him he would be a positive influence on the council and he could continue to contribute to the town he has grown to love so much for the past 35 years.

Of course I am biased, but I’m so proud of what he’s accomplished over the decades and his natural ability to stay level-headed and thoughtfully consider all sides of the issues. He’s really a humble guy who just wants to help Fountain Hills improve and work through the tough things that are thrown at the town council.

I’m going to stand by my man no matter what. You might have seen his handsome face on those campaign signs, but I get to see it in person every day.

So, yes, I totally want my husband to be a member of the town council, and I hope you do as well.

Not only do I like Mike, I also love him!
