I am writing in response to the letter to the editor by Councilwoman Brenda Kalivianakis. I really applaud her courage for standing up for her beliefs as to why she is willing to speak out about what is taking place at our Town Hall in regard to issues that are tearing apart our town.
In her letter she acknowledges that her views may not be popular among her Republican members on the council and the mayor, but she felt her moral obligation to speak out. She states that her “political journey has led her away from partisan dogmas.” She says she wants to “focus on the best interests of the town and its people.” That is exactly what an elected councilmember should be doing!!
I would hope the citizens in Fountain Hills agree with that belief. Thank you again, Brenda. I salute you.
