Hover: Does party have an impact on inflation?

Posted

Inflation is one of the top-priority discussions of the moment.

I am not knowledgeable in the field of economics, but as an elder who has lived within his means and from paycheck to paycheck most of my working life and into retirement, I invite anyone from our major educational institutions to chip in with a better explanation of inflation.

Ergo, I have concluded that inflation is a force working outside of the control of any of our political parties.

In 1987 Ronald Reagan (R) was President for two terms; followed by H.W. Bush (R) for one term; Bill Clinton (D) for two terms; G.W. Bush (R), who was president for two terms; Barak Obama (D) for two terms; Donald Trump for one term; Joe Biden (D) for one term and now Donald Trump (R) for a second term in office; thus, six Republican terms and five Democratic terms up to this point.

We still have had an uninterrupted increase in inflation over the years!

In 1987, I retired after 30 years in the Aerospace industry, with a bachelor’s degree from the University of California Berkeley, and at the top of my labor classification; earning $25/hour, which was rather good at that time. I now (2024) pay $25/hour for transportation to medical and other appointments.

Who says Inflation is the fault of one party or the other?
