Hooray for homecoming

For high school students and the community that supports them, you can’t get much better than homecoming.

Earlier this week, Fountain Hills High School students kicked off this year’s homecoming events with spirit days and the powderpuff football tournament. They’ve got a big pep assembly coming up tomorrow, the dance on Saturday and all sorts of other activities planned to keep spirits high throughout the week.

While the volleyball team will play their homecoming match-up Thursday evening at 6 p.m. in the gym, the Falcon football team, band and spirit line will take the field beginning this Friday evening, Oct. 21, beginning at 7 p.m.

This year’s homecoming parade will actually take place right before the big game, with floats aplenty winding down Golden Eagle Blvd. starting at 5 p.m. Be sure to check out the story on 1A for additional details.

And don’t forget that, following the parade, plenty of additional activities will be hosted right there on the high school campus, with food and games to keep the kids entertained until kickoff.

Whether you have a youngster in school or not, the local Boosters like to point out that, if you live in Fountain Hills, you’re a Falcon. This week, we invite everyone to come out and fly as a single flock.

Go Falcons!
