Most everyone has heard the name “Honor Flight,” but what do you know about it?

Today, Wednesday, April 24 at 9 a.m., members of VFW Post 7507 will learn more about the program as Rick Hardina, president of Honor Flight Arizona, makes a presentation to assembled members at the post’s bi-weekly Coffee Klatch in the post’s home at 9624 N. Monterey Dr. (across from Tractor Supply).

After the presentation, the post will present him with a check to assist in continuing the program. The post has sent all members who are WWII veterans on Honor Flight and is currently sending Korean War veterans on the flights. All Honor Flight alumni are requested to wear Honor Flight shirts if they have them.

This meeting is open to all veterans and to the general public who might be interested in the program. Participants in Honor Flight need not be members of any veterans’ service organization, solely veterans who served during WWII or in Korean conflict. After the WWII and Korean War veterans have been on Honor Flight, the flights will be opened to Viet Nam veterans.

Honor Flight is free for participants and is funded by donations from veterans and other organizations and by donations from the general public. This is a great opportunity for anyone to find out more about this remarkable program that honors our veterans.
