Sheriff’s deputies in Fountain Hills responded to a report of a burglary in progress in the 14000 block of Hampstead Drive on Friday evening, April 28.
The homeowners reported they arrived and surprised a burglar inside the house. Although the residents yelled at the burglar telling him to get out, they did not enter the home. The man said he approached the door, which had been kicked open, and noticed several weapons on the floor that had been in his gun safe. Since he did not know whether the suspect had one of the guns he stayed out and waited for deputies.
The suspect reportedly walked out of the house through the garage and down the street away from the scene.

The homeowners reported they arrived and surprised a burglar inside the house. Although the residents yelled at the burglar telling him to get out, they did not enter the home. The man said he approached the door, which had been kicked open, and noticed several weapons on the floor that had been in his gun safe. The suspect reportedly walked out of the house through the garage and down the street away from the scene.
When deputies arrived they cleared the residence and found no one else inside.
The victims described the suspect as a Hispanic or Native American male about 6-feet tall about 250 pounds.
Deputies called in MCSO K-9 units and helicopter support to search the area, but the suspect was not immediately located.
