Fountain View Village has announced its upcoming fundraising event, “Festive Flavors,” featuring Arizona-based Sommelier Wesam “Sam” Kawa.
The event is Tuesday, Oct. 15, from 1 to 3 p.m. and costs $15 per person which includes a wine-pairing demonstration and a four-course meal from the Fountain View Village Senior Living Community.
Proceeds from the event will benefit the Alzheimer’s Association.
Kawa holds one of only four “advanced” sommelier certificates in the state of Arizona, according to a press release.
Kawa will explain wine pairing and give specific examples of how to pair the perfect wine with any holiday entertaining dish.
Kawa has had the privilege of serving for many years on the floor of Arizona’s top restaurants such as Kai and Cafe Monarch and was named a 2019 Rudd Scholar by the Court of Master Sommeliers.
Kawa strives to provide attendees with their own unique wine-tasting journey, and his ability to combine his expertise, fervor and hospitality guarantees his guests fine dining experiences, the release said.
