Political divisiveness has come to the forefront over the annual Christmas tree display in the lobby of the Fountain Hills Community Center.
The Democratic and Republican clubs in the community raised a ruckus over whether each display was appropriate for the holidays.
The Republican Club chose this year to decorate their tree in the lobby in recognition of President-Elect Donald Trump with flags and other items honoring the incoming president. When a member of the Democratic Club complained about the tree and asked the Community Center staff to have it removed, the town declined to interfere.
