Fountain Hills firefighters clean up landscape debris at a home during the 2023 Make a Difference Day.

On the morning of Saturday, Oct. 19, more than 400 volunteers are expected to participate in the annual Make a Difference Day in Fountain Hills.
The volunteers will provide landscape debris removal, weed control, minor interior and exterior home repairs, exterior wheelchair ramp building and interior cleaning assistance for some of the community’s most vulnerable residents.
“Serving residents who need special care and support because of age or disabilities, financial hardship or other issues that leave them susceptible to harm is what the 16th annual Make a Difference Day is all about,” said Town of Fountain Hills Volunteer Supervisor Kim Wickland.
Wickland is seeking help to reach out and identify those residents who are in need and who want assistance on Make a Difference Day.
“There may be someone at church, school or in the neighborhood who would benefit from the time and services given by the volunteers,” Wickland said. “Invite them to participate. There are no fees involved.”
Anyone who would like to receive help on Make a Difference Day, may contact Kim Wickland, Town Volunteer Supervisor at 480-516-5108 or kwickland@fountainhillsaz.gov. Residential Work Project Requests are due no later than Aug. 30.
Residential Work Project Registration forms are available at the Community Center and Town Hall.
Volunteer Registration is available at fountainhillsaz.gov/madd.
