The weather seems poised to make a quick transition from a comfortable spring to more summer-like temperatures. The National Weather Service is calling for near triple digit temperatures Thursday and Friday that will approach records for the date.

In Fountain Hills the forecast is for the mercury to reach the low to mid-90s the next couple of days. People are reminded to avoid exertion during the heat of the day and drink plenty of water if working or recreating in the outdoors.

A weather system approaching from the west will mean a temporary pull back from the warm temperatures with the mercury topping out in the mid 80s over the weekend.
