The intersection of Avenue of the Fountains and La Montana is a safety hazard. Because of the wide boulevard it is very difficult to cross or make a turn. Confusion is certain as to whose turn it is to go and many times there are narrow misses in the middle.
This is an ideal place for a traffic circle. There is more than enough room and there could be a beautiful fountain in the middle. This could be a defining way to accent the end of The Avenue of the Fountains and its beautifully renovated boulevard.
Now, this idea was studied in the past and rejected due to the costs. I believe, however, that cost alone should not be the only criteria. When considering public improvements, town leaders should also be responsible for and aware of the impact on the community. This is in the heart of Fountain Hills and would greatly add to the beauty of the Avenue. Or we could have a cheaper design of industrial lane markers and barricades. Is this how we want Fountain Hills to look in the future?

With the fountain in the park and a fountain at the end of the Avenue, we would truly be Fountain Hills.
