Groundbreaking for Park Place held Thursday

The skies grew dark but the rain held off until the first shovels of dirt were turned Thursday at the site of the Park Place Development on Avenue of the Fountains.

Mayor Linda Kavanagh, along with Councilmembers Cecil Yates and Dennis Brown and Town Manager Grady Miller joined developer Bart Shea with N-Shea Group for the groundbreaking ceremony for the multi-million dollar mixed-use project for downtown.

Park Place Phase I is a mixed use project that will stretch from Town Hall down the Avenue to the halfway point between Verde River Drive and Saguaro Boulevard. Two mirror image buildings would be constructed on either side of Verde River Drive.

Park Place Phase I is a mixed use project that will stretch from Town Hall down the Avenue to the halfway point between Verde River Drive and Saguaro Boulevard. Two mirror image buildings would be constructed on either side of Verde River Drive.

The initial phase calls for 230 apartment units on three floors above about 32,000 square feet of commercial on the ground.
