Greer Ann (Ardis) Maybaum, of Fountain Hills passed on Aug. 28, 2015, at home with her husband, Bill, of 49 years at her side.

She was born April 14, 1943, in Grand Rapids, Mich.

She is survived by her husband Bill; their two sons, Erich (Laura) and Robert (Amy); two wonderful grandchildren, Ellie Ann and Keaton; and nieces Heather, Erinn, Kate and Alex.

Greer was a wonderful and kind aunt to the nieces of the family and was a much-loved member of the outlaws, as they were known.

Greer graduated from the Hurley School of Nursing in Flint, Mich., in 1965. She worked as an R.N. in Flint, Lansing, and Ann Arbor, Mich.

Greer enjoyed many activities, from bowling, gardening, and horseback riding to needle work.

One of her greatest loves was to welcome people into her family’s home. Greer knew no strangers. She was particularly happy to have the friends of her sons come to the house after school to meet and chat in the kitchen.

While Greer lived in Chelsea, Mich., she was an active volunteer with the high school and middle school bands, helping with many events supporting the programs.

While her family lived in the Boston area, Greer and her friends formed a sewing group that would meet at various houses and plan adventures in which they would explore many New England destinations.

Greer was particularly fond of whale watching out of Gloucester, Mass., and she was happy to take visiting friends and family on trips where she could to share her joy in these excursions with others.

Greer will be greatly missed as a wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend.
