He touts skills such as growing a business, meeting a budget and dealing with government bureaucracies that have helped him grow hundreds of jobs in Arizona as skills that he will bring to the office of the Arizona Secretary of State.
He says he is a conservative who believes in a smaller, more efficient government and an election system which remains transparent and fair while encouraging citizen participation.
Pierce currently serves in the Arizona Legislature representing Legislative District 25. He is a fifth generation Arizonan, born in Mesa.
He studied accounting at the business school at ASU and then went on to earn his law degree at Georgetown University, graduating with honors.
Following law school, he worked as a law clerk for the Arizona Supreme Court and is currently a shareholder in a large national law firm.
Reagan represents Fountain Hills in Legislative District 23. She was elected to the House in 2002 and then transitioned to the Senate in 2010.
She is regarded as a friend to small businesses in Arizona because of her work as chairman of the House Commerce Committee. In the Senate, as Chairman of the newly formed Senate Elections Committee, she has introduced a number of laws to assure an efficient, accurate, and fair elections system and the removal of “dark money” from the system.
A graduate of Illinois State University, Michele moved to Arizona with her parents in 1991, where they started a business.
The Secretary of State is the keeper of the “State Seal” and is the administrator of four divisions: the Administrative Directive Registry (Living Wills, Medical Powers of Attorney); Business Services (registering of trademarks, names, etc. under the Uniform Commercial Code); Election Division (administering all public elections, certifying their results, regulating lobbying and campaign finance); and Public Services (filing bills from the Arizona Legislature, regulating and publishing of administrative regulations in the AZ Blue Book).
The office of Secretary of State is the second highest office in the state of Arizona, first in line of succession to the governor.
Fountain Hills Republican meetings are open to all interested persons. Complimentary coffee and breakfast snacks are provided beginning at 8:45 a.m. Attendees have an opportunity to meet these candidates and others before and after the meeting.
