Goldie Elizabeth Demeter, 93, of Fountain Hills passed away Feb. 4, 2013 at her home.
Goldie was born in Toledo, Ohio. At the age of 25, she married Andy and they remained together until his death in 1988.
In 1976, they moved to Fountain Hills. Goldie became involved in the start of Fountain Hills Presbyterian Church, becoming one of the church’s first members and a secretary for 12 years, a member of the church choir and the Presbyterian Women’s Group.
She was a volunteer for Scottsdale Healthcare Shea for 15 years. Goldie loved music and dancing.
She was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters and a brother and is survived by a sister, Margaret Rogers of Oregon, Ohio; several nieces and nephews and a host of friends she has made since living in Arizona.
A memorial ceremony will be held at Fountain Hills Presbyterian Church, 13001 N. Fountain Hills Boulevard, on Thursday, Feb. 14, at 11 a.m.
