Last Friday’s storm notwithstanding, this is the stuff we live here for. Weather forecasters are predicting a beautiful week of spring sunshine and moderate temperatures, just perfect for the plethora of activities scheduled in the community this week.

The Fountain Hills Fine Art & Wine Affaire will be held Friday through Sunday on the Avenue of the Fountains, along with the unique Fountain Hills twist on St. Patrick’s Day Sunday, March 17. The Sons of AMVETS are organizing a day-long celebration in Fountain Park from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., which includes the world-famous Fountain turning emerald green at noon Sunday.

Schools are off with spring break right now, but it’s a perfect time to enjoy the great outdoors in Fountain Hills and partake in the many activities and programs being offered here. For example, even though the “Wisconsin Fest” on Saturday is indoors – at the Community Center – patrons can always take a stroll amid the public art around the John Cutillo Plaza or visit the L. Alan Cruikshank River of Time Museum.

While the official first day of spring isn’t until March 20, now is the best time to enjoy spring-like weather in the Hills. Take advantage of it while you can, because you know the triple-digit heat will inevitably come in a couple of months...
