The Friends in the Hills Welcome Club held its biennial silent auction and raffle on Nov. 9 at the Community Center.
Although the organization of over 400 women is a social club, they hold a fundraiser every two years to raise money for local charities and organizations in Fountain Hills, including Extended Hands Food Bank, Fountain Hills Toymakers, Boys & Girls Club, Toys for Tots, AZ Brainfood (Fountain Hills specific), Fountain Hills Theater and Fountain Hills Drug Coalition.
Approximately 125 women attended the luncheon and enjoyed shopping for their favorite items among the 150 raffle and silent auction items. The big jackpot winner of the 50:50 raffle was Barbara Cardinal.

“Thank you to all the businesses and individuals who donated items and gift cards to our auction. We could not do this event without your generous contributions,” Club President Gina Waldo said. “A big thank you goes to Natalie Hogeboom and her committee for making the event such a success.”
