The Fountain Hills cross country team made its mark at the state championships on Nov. 15, with freshmen leading the team and others finishing with new bests.
Nate Schlossberg led the boys team, which made a state appearance for the first time since 2016, placing 46th with a time of 18:33.90. Senior Colby Wright followed suit with a 51st-place finish and time of 18:51.60.
Both are two of the best times in school history, head coach Andrea Hall said in an email, adding that Schlossberg added himself into the same category as the program’s record holders while Wright capped his high school career with his best state performance.
