Honor Flight Arizona works year-round to plan and conduct eight to 10 trips to the memorials in Washington, D.C.
Flights take off as scheduled if funding and Guardian needs are met. All Northern/Central AZ flights leave from Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport for a three-day trip to Washington, D.C.
The three-day trip costs $1,300 and to date, 2,500 veterans have taken the journey.
Veteran and Four Peaks Rotarian, Alex Ross, shared his experience as an Honor Flight recipient.
