Four Peaks Rotary welcomed Allen “Yodel’n Al Fossenkemper, who spoke to the club about Western Spirit, Scottsdale’s Museum of the West.

Allen said the idea for the museum began thirty years ago with Scottsdale Mayor Herb Drinkwater. The cost of the museum with a 40,000 square foot exhibit area was $15 million. Western Spirit opened in January of last year.

Scottsdale’s Museum of the West celebrates the art, history, culture and unique stories of the 19 states comprising the American West. The museum features regularly changing exhibitions, entertaining events, gallery tours and engaging activities that bring to life the unique stories of the people, places and events that embody our Western heritage and play a role in shaping its future.
