Four Peaks Rotary Club helps food bank, more
Posted
The Four Peaks Rotary Club heard from the Chamber of Commerce’s new CEO at its last meeting.
Scott Soldat-Valenzuela spoke of changes that have already been made at the Chamber and more are in the works.
He said the business group’s meetings are now called “FH Connect.”
These meetings will include opportunities for business people to meet others to expand their business along with a substantive presentation.
The Chamber’s next breakfast meeting is Jan. 15 and its annual gala also is coming up this month.
Four Peaks Rotary provided $2500 of the 2015 commitment worth of baby food, diapers and food to Extended Hands Food Bank.
“The timing for the food bank’s need and the club’s ability to respond was perfect,” reported Bill Beamish, president of the Four Peaks Rotary Club.
He recently learned that the club had been awarded a $1000 Rotary District Grant specifically designated for the food bank.
“This grant effectively allows us to double the amount that we can give the food bank each year,” Beamish added.
He also wanted to thank the local Fry’s, through the efforts of General Manager Doug Roller, for their support and pricing, allowing the club to give even more to the food bank.
Those interested in the club and Rotary are invited to the group’s next meeting, which will focus on Rotary awareness.
That has been set for Thursday, Jan. 22, from 6:45 to 8 a.m. at the group’s new meeting location, Fountain View Village, second floor restaurant, 16455 E. Avenue of the Fountains.
