Four Peaks Rotary Club members held two meetings in May.

Outgoing Fountain Hills Unified School District Superintendent Patrick Sweeney and Assistant Superintendent of Business Operations Dr. Robert Allen were speakers at the May 10 meeting.

The club made a donation for Soldier’s Best Friend and recognized the teacher of the month Vanessa Davidson, art instructor at Fountain Hills Charter School.

Isabelle Clausen updated the club on activities of the Grand Canyon University Rotaract (college Rotary).

The last meeting of the month May 24 featured Michelle James with U.S. Vets. A donation was made to Make-A-Wish Arizona following the first Four Peaks Rotary Club Car Show fundraiser.

An update on club member Buzz Ponce, who is bicycling across the country for Warriors Heart, was presented.

Both Four Peaks Rotary Club and Rotary Club of Fountain Hills members on Memorial Day placed hundreds of flags at sunrise in Fountain Park and removed them at sunset to commemorate fallen U.S. soldiers.
