The Fountain View Village Patriots got a history lesson from quite a young guest at its recent meeting.
Matthew Schmidt, 14, spoke at the local club’s meeting on Aug. 4 at 16455 E. Avenue of the Fountains, sharing the early events that shaped leaderships that fought in World II, such as the many actions directed by Adolf Hitler that led to the various successes and failures of Nazi Germany during the conflict.
Schmidt is beginning his freshman year at Desert Mountain High School and is passionate about history, as well as retro gaming and anything from the 1980s, according to a press release. Bruce Frobes, club program coordinator, also introduced retired veterans from both Fountain View and Morningstar as well as students from The Inspiration Academy who were at the meeting.
