According to organizers of the 2016 Fountain of Youth Fiesta fundraising event benefiting the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Scottsdale McKee Branch, the event hosted out of the home of Tina and Tom Duffy on April 8 was another huge success.
Visitors to the event purchased tickets in advance, giving them access to a night of activities and entertainment, as well as ways to provide even more contributions to the local Boys & Girls Club branch.
Organizer Tina Duffy said she wanted to thank everyone who had a hand in pulling this massive event together, making for another successful night benefiting local youth.
“The event turned out great,” she said, estimating about 300 in attendance.
“I am so very grateful for all the people that attended the event. We live in an amazing town.”
While a final count was not available as of press time, Duffy estimated about $75,000 were raised during the event.
Donating food to the event and providing the full dinner, wine and beer for the evening were AJ’s Fine Foods, Grassroots Kitchen & Tap, Flo’s, Sapori D’Italia, Cantina Laredo, Redendo’s and Chocofin Chocolatier.
Entertainment was provided throughout the evening by kids from the local clubs.
Along with the silent and live auction, visitors took part in a wine draw, as well as drawings for mystery boxes, mystery bottles of wine, a 50/50 drawing and more.
During the silent auction, visitors bid on packages like a round of golf at FireRock and other local courses, an overnight stay and dinner at the Phoenician and a fitness package.
As for the live auction, items include free dry cleaning for a year from Prestige Cleaners, a basketball clinic from the Phoenix Suns, a seven-night stay at the Mammoth Mountain ski resort in California and a Mexico fantasy trip to a resort in Puerto Vallarta, donated by Arizona Trails.
Guests took part in all of these activities throughout the night while socializing and enjoying refreshments. In the end, it all added up to a community coming together once again to help make sure the local Boys & Girls Club has the support necessary to put together another year’s worth of programs and activities.
