Fountain Hills Youth Theater director retires

After 23 years, YABOY founder takes a final bow

The longtime artistic and technical director of the Fountain Hills Youth Theater will retire next month after 23 years at the helm.

Since joining the theater in 2002, Ross Collins built the youth program into a full-time youth theater, creating over 115 shows and working with hundreds of children from Fountain Hills and beyond.

“I was in the process of raising a couple of kids when I took this over and having developed a dad voice was really helpful,” Collins said. “When I hit 72, it was like, ‘You know what, I think it’s time for someone younger to take over.’”
