Fountain Hills youth coalition celebrates year of safe encouragement

In Fountain Hills, youth substance abuse prevention is more than a program — it is a community commitment, according to one volunteer.

Leading that community effort is the Fountain Hills Protect Our Youth Coalition, according to the coalition’s Program Manager Elizabeth Watters.

The coalition is a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering young people and families to make healthy, drug-free choices. Serving Fountain Hills and the Fort McDowell Yavapai Nation, the coalition brings together schools, families, public safety, local businesses, cultural organizations, civic organizations and youth leaders to create lasting change, she states.
