The Fountain Hills High School track and field team faced “relentless” wind and were challenged by the elements during the Ron Smith Classic at Shadow Mountain High School in Phoenix Saturday, March 30.
Head coach Andrea Hall said the homestretch of the track had a headwind that made things more difficult for the runners. The Falcons only set four personal records (PR) at the invitational and have three weeks until the Northeast Valley Championships.
Sophomore Mark Minero (1:05.21) and freshman Charlie Simpson (1:05.98) both set PRs in the 400m race. They placed 87th and 88th, respectively.
